Program Policies

These policies govern the conduct, selection, supervision, and ongoing development of students enrolled in Whole Health Clinical Hypnosis Training. All students and organizational leads are expected to be familiar with these policies before enrollment begins.

01 Student Selection Procedures

Whole Health Clinical Hypnosis Training is designed for licensed professionals adding clinical hypnosis to an existing practice. All applicants are evaluated for professional standing and clinical context before acceptance.

Individual Enrollment

Individuals seeking enrollment complete a video meeting interview with Gary Josephson prior to acceptance. This conversation covers professional background, licensure, clinical context, goals for integrating hypnosis, and any questions about the program. Acceptance is confirmed following the interview.

Organizational Enrollment

Organizations enrolling a cohort complete a video meeting interview with the organizational program lead prior to acceptance. The program lead represents the cohort and is responsible for confirming that all cohort members meet the professional standards of this program.

Exceptions

Exceptions to standard enrollment criteria may be considered and are made exclusively by Gary Josephson. All exception decisions are final.

02 Disciplinary Procedures

All students are held to the professional and ethical standards that govern clinical hypnosis practice throughout training — in classroom instruction, supervised paired practice, online sessions, and during the Independent Clinical Practice Period.

Standards of Conduct

  • Treat all participants with professional respect at all times

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding what other students share in training

  • Practice only within the scope of your current training level

  • Obtain explicit consent before any paired practice exercise

  • Maintain honest and accurate records during the Independent Practice Period

  • Never share, distribute, or reproduce assessment materials, answer keys, or proprietary program content

Disciplinary Process

1.   Verbal discussion — to clarify expectations and address possible misunderstandings. Many concerns are resolved at this stage.

2.   Formal warning — issued in writing if the concern is not resolved through discussion, or if the conduct warrants a more formal response.

3.   Dismissal — if conduct continues after a formal warning, or if the severity of the initial conduct warrants immediate dismissal. All dismissal decisions are made by Gary Josephson and are final.

Immediate Dismissal

Certain conduct may result in immediate dismissal without prior warning, including: any violation of client consent during practice, sharing or reproducing confidential assessment materials, misrepresenting qualifications or certification status, and any conduct placing a participant at risk.

Withholding Certification

Completion of training days does not guarantee certification. Certification may be withheld when assessment standards are not met, when conduct during training raises concerns about readiness to practice ethically, or when a disciplinary matter remains unresolved.

03 Supervision Provisions

Clinical supervision is a core component of training at every level. Students are never left to practice without appropriate oversight.

In-Class Supervised Practice

  • Paired practice is conducted in pairs only under direct instructor observation

  • Gary Josephson monitors all pairs throughout every practice period

  • Practice is limited to techniques introduced in that day's instruction

  • Immediate feedback is provided following each practice session

Live Practical Evaluations

Gary Josephson directly observes each student's clinical application at the end of every level, evaluating regulation monitoring, ethical pacing, appropriate restraint, and quality of clinical reasoning.

Independent Practice Period

Between Level 2 and Level 3, students complete a minimum of 48 hours of independent client sessions over 8 consecutive weeks. Gary Josephson is available to the organizational program lead throughout this period to answer questions and clarify clinical application for students confirmed to proceed to Level 3.

04 Continuing Professional Development

Whole Health Consulting is committed to the ongoing professional development of its graduates. Certification is the beginning of a professional relationship with a growing system of clinical tools and training options.

Continuing Education — Modular Systems

  • Shadow Work — available as standalone CE to certified Hypnotherapists who completed Level 2 without the Shadow Work module. Earns: Shadow Work Practitioner — Whole Health Consulting

  • Compounded Hypnotic Technique (CHT) — available as standalone CE to certified Clinical Hypnotherapists who completed Level 3 without the CHT module. Earns: CHT Practitioner — Whole Health Consulting

  • CE course pricing is identical to the enrollment addition price — no distinction in credential, content, or cost

Future Modules

As new modular systems are developed and released, they will be available to all certified graduates as standalone continuing education courses — regardless of when they completed their original training.

Instructor Licensing

Graduates who have completed all three levels and maintained active clinical practice for a minimum of one year may apply to become Licensed Whole Health Consulting Instructors.

ACHE Examination Readiness

Graduates who complete all three levels with passing scores of 80% or above and successful Live Practical Evaluations are considered aligned with readiness to sit for the ACHE written certification examination. Gary Josephson advises graduates individually on examination readiness based on their complete training and assessment record.

Student Confidentiality in Training
