Classes and Webinars
Beyond our three-level certification program in clinical hypnotherapy, Whole Health Consulting offers focused, three-hour classes and webinars on the techniques that make hypnosis work in real clinical practice. Each is led by Gary Josephson, a clinical master hypnotherapist with over thirty years of experience.
Exploring the Shadow
3-Hour Class · In person or online
Shadow Work is a clinically grounded approach to the subconscious protective patterns that influence behavior, emotional responses, and decision-making- patterns that were once adaptive and have quietly outlived their purpose. This class shows practitioners how to recognize those patterns and work with them in hypnosis, without overwhelming the client.
What you'll explore
• The difference between suppressed and repressed material
• How protective patterns show up in real time, through recurring behaviors, emotional triggers, and resistance
• How to recognize when a response is protective rather than responsive
• A structured five-phase approach to awareness, understanding, integration, and updating responses
• How hypnosis allows efficient access to underlying patterns
Take this course for
• A clinical framework you can apply directly in your practice
• The ability to recognize protective patterns in clients
• A safe, structured process for helping clients integrate these patterns
A clear, repeatable approach to the recurring patterns that limit a client's progress.
Compounded Hypnotic Technique
3-Hour Class · Interactive and demonstration-based
A technique for achieving permanent change faster. Compounded Hypnotic Technique blends multiple hypnotic methods within a single session to create synergistic effects. Rather than relying on one approach, the practitioner layers methods in real time and adapts to the client in front of them.
What you'll explore
• What compounding is, and why layering deepens outcomes
• The structure of a compounded session, from assessment to integration
• Layering methods such as inner child work, regression, rapid EMDR, and post-hypnotic suggestion
• When to alternate between direct and indirect hypnosis
• How to manage the depth of the hypnotic state as the session unfolds
Take this course for
• Deeper, more integrated results in fewer sessions
• The ability to respond to the client in real time rather than follow a fixed script
• A structured method you can apply directly in clinical practice
A responsive, structured approach to producing lasting change efficiently.
Controlling the Depth of the Hypnotic Trance
3-Hour Class / Webinar · In person or online
Managing the depth of the hypnotic state is one of the most useful skills a hypnotherapist can develop. Depth is not something that simply happens in a session. The hypnotherapist determines it through the methods and techniques they choose, and the work lands best when the state matches what each phase of the session calls for.
What you'll explore
• How to recognize the levels of hypnotic trance as they change
• How to actively raise, deepen, and lighten the state on purpose
• How to guide a client to the depth the work requires
• How to test for a given depth
• Why the right depth, not the deepest, produces lasting change
Take this course for
• Reliable, intentional control of the trance state
• The ability to match depth to the clinical task
• More effective sessions and more durable client outcomes
Depth becomes a clinical tool you direct, rather than an outcome left to chance.
